Hey Dude! Your cat is on fire!

Our newest “OH Crap” moment comes courtesy of my favorite feline, George.

George is his own cat.

I mean, he does what he wants, when he wants and has to truck with anal probes (so far as we know, but he’s a cat. Think he would really tell us?).

We rarely hear a sound out of him unless he wants back outside 5 minutes after just came in, or thinks he needs more food, or wants the TV channel changed.

So, you know, he’s a typical cat.

Anyway, I’m sitting at my computer the other night and start to smell something burning.

Now, in my little electronic world, that is a major cause for alarm. So after repeatedly trying to force my nose into the little grate on the side of my computer, I finally determined it was not me and off I go on a search.

I noticed my wife had lit our small heater in the living room (it was a tad chilly) and after trying to stick my nose in that grate (some habits are hard to break), I asked if she had just lit it.

Nope..been on for a while.

Now she is in on the search as she smells it too.

Off we go, sniffing our way around the house and sticking noses into any grate we could find. Still couldn’t figure it out.

As the last stop on our Great Easter Smell Hunt, I walk into the kitchen.

I almost missed it, but the there on the floor in front of the sink trying to do a quick clean up (in that particular way cats have) was George.

I say almost missed it as it took me a second to realize his tail was not usually that particular shade of burnt cat.

As he sits there trying vainly to hide the evidence, he gives me this “What..You never stuck your tail in a gas heater?” look.

He finally gives up and walks off the check what’s on TV, tail held high.

Cats are so cool sometimes.
